It’s that time of year when everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit. It was great to see the residents of Walpole Court enjoying their festive afternoon feast on Friday (8 December).

There was a lot of Christmas cheer in the air, served alongside plenty of afternoon tea – the residents enjoyed a delicious spread of sandwiches, savouries and lots of cake and refreshments.

The scrumptious afternoon tea was provided by Hill Group as part of their social value commitment towards developing the Kenilworth Independent Living Scheme.

Residents are looking forward to moving into their new properties in Spring 2024 when the independent living scheme is due to be completed.

Councillor Jeannette Thomas, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Housing and Housing Development said: “The afternoon tea looked absolutely delicious. It was fantastic to see the residents of Walpole Court tucking into their sandwiches and cakes, everyone had a good time and it was great to keep the festivities going with a Christmas quiz and some carols in the background.

“It was a lovely Christmassy afternoon at Walpole Court.”

The Kenilworth Close development consists of mixed tenure properties that will provide 118 homes for council tenants on our housing register. The development is a significant regeneration of the Bragbury End neighbourhood centre, which will see the development of over 200 new homes, new retail and a new state-of-the-art independent living centre.
