Opening hours over Christmas
Over the Christmas holidays, there are some changes to our normal opening hours you can contact us on 01438 242242 on the following days.

Emergency repairs, homelessness, and domestic abuse
For these emergencies while our normal services are closed, telephone 01438 314963.
If you are a victim of domestic abuse, support is available from Survivors Against Domestic Abuse (SADA).
However, if you are in immediate danger, call 999.
Food Banks
The Foodshed - a referral based, independent food bank, based at The Vineyard in Stevenage.
If you’re being supported by a charity/ organisation/ school etc then ask them to get in contact and they will be able to talk them through the steps to referral.
Christmas opening:
As Christmas day is on a Wednesday this year the Foodshed drop-in has been postponed until Sunday 29 December.
Refuse and recycling collections
Check your revised waste and recycling collection dates.
Snow and Ice
Herts County Council have primary responsibility for clearing snow and ice in Stevenage and provide details of their gritting and salting routes.
If prolonged snowfall prevents services such as refuse and recycling collections, we will deploy those teams to assist Herts County Council in the clearing of pavements, footpaths and roads.
Follow the Met Office's Snow Code to clear snow and ice from the pavement outside your home or public space.
