Local Proclamation of King Charles III Accession to the Throne
The proclamation is the formal announcement of a new Sovereign's Ascension to the throne.
It began at a meeting of the Ascension Council which was held on Sunday 11 September at St James' Palace before being read at the Royal Exchange, then rolled out across the country.
The local proclamation was read in the town square by the Mayor of Stevenage, Councillor Margaret Notley, on Sunday 11 September at 4pm.
