It’s that time of year again, where we’re starting to talk of snow, Santa, jingle bells and driving home for Christmas to rock around the Christmas tree...and, while we’re on the subject of Christmas we have one more surprise...Junior Andre is getting ready to light-up Stevenage at our annual festive light switch-on!

You’re in for one heck of an extra special Christmas extravaganza this year, Junior Andre already has Saturday 25 November booked in his diary to come to Stevenage, switch on our festive lights and perform a few songs too!

There’ll be so many activities happening throughout the afternoon including free face-painting, a giant snow globe, a sensory station and let’s be honest, it wouldn’t be Christmas without the Christmas Market to grab a few presents while you’re having a ball. There’s plenty happening and everyone is invited, don’t forget there’s free car parking at St Georges’ Car Park too!

We promise it’s going to be bigger and better than ever before, so grab your coats, pull on your wellies (if needed) and get wrapped up ready to see us (and Junior Andre) at Event Island in Stevenage Town Centre from 12 noon on 25 November 2023 for lots of fun, singing and dancing.

Councillor Richard Henry, Leader of the Council said: “We’re really looking forward to seeing Junior Andre at this year’s festive lights switch-on. It’s fantastic to see our community come together to have fun at these types of events. Please help us by sharing it far and wide, bring along your friends and your family and get into the Christmas spirit with us.

“You’ll even get the chance to meet our VIP guest himself, so if you’re a fan of Junior’s then come along early and say hello as there will only be time to accommodate up to 30 lucky people. Let’s illuminate Stevenage Town Centre together and make it the biggest and best year we’ve had for Christmas events in town.”

We’ve also got The Old Town Christmas Light Switch-on too! So, while you’ve got your diary open, make sure you save 5-6pm on 18 November 2023 at the Bowling Green, there’ll be music and lots of Christmas cheer. It’s another great festive event in the Old Town, a perfect opportunity to put on your Christmas dancing shoes, get together with friends and family and enjoy some Christmas fun, so we’ll see you there.

Ho! ho! hoping you can join us, we’ll see you there. Merry Christmas everyone!
