Situated on the site of the former bus station, Event Island, Stevenage was created as part of the town centre regeneration programme and offers a spacious area to hold outdoor events throughout the whole year.
So far, the space has been used for plenty of successful food markets, large public events such as the Stevenage town Christmas and Halloween shenanigans and an ice rink, it has welcomed our armed forces veterans for Armed Forces Day and celebrated the Coronation of King Charles III to name a few. The exhibition space offers a dynamic setting, with a suitable-sized solar-powered plug-and-play stage, perfect for hosting large events. You’re welcome to manage your own event, or if you’d prefer Event Island can do the whole shebang, where our friendly Event team can be on hand to assist, the choice is yours.

Grassed areas, planted with a mix of evergreen shrubs, plants and flowers create a green corridor increasing biodiversity and attracting wildlife into the centre of the town, while also enhancing the setting for concerts and other outdoor events.
Councillor Loraine Rossati, Portfolio Holder for Culture and Leisure said: “Event Island, Stevenage provides the perfect space to host large scale and smaller events, too. The innovative set-up creates a flexible offer to suit the type of event. There’s also the option to have experts helping throughout the planning stages, as well as being on hand throughout the event.
“It’s fantastic to have such a facility to host public and corporate events that can bring communities together and visitors into the town.”
