Event Island community grant launched for local groups
Stevenage Borough Council is thrilled to announce the launch of the Event Island Community Grant, aimed at supporting local groups in hosting community events on Event Island, Stevenage.
This initiative, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, offers grants ranging from £100 to £500, and can be used to cover essential costs such as staffing, equipment or entertainment.
Eligible groups can use the funds to bring ideas to life. The grant is designed to encourage more groups to organise community-driven events, endorsing our community spirit within Stevenage and encouraging people to come together.
Councillor Loraine Rossati, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Wellbeing said, “There are so many local groups that can benefit from an events grant. Event Island is a great space that’s available all year round and somewhere to bring people together to celebrate the diverse community that is Stevenage. If you’re planning a community event, I’d urge you to consider Event Island. The team is always ready to help, and you may be eligible for a grant to help with your costs.”
There’s lots of information available on how to qualify for the grant on the Stevenage Borough Council website. Applications are open now, providing a unique opportunity for local groups to make a tangible impact and what better way to strengthen our community than by staying local and supporting businesses too.
