The Stevenage Works Community Chest Fund was first launched in 2020, offering local community organisations the opportunity to bid for a share of the fund on an annual basis.

Managed by Stevenage Works, the Community Chest Fund was created in conjunction with North Hertfordshire College (NHC) and Job Centre Plus (JCP) to create a joined-up approach to delivering social value within the community.

The pot of money is donated by contractors who work closely in partnership with the council and have a keen interest in giving something back to the community through their social value commitments.

The Stevenage Works Community Chest Fund 2024 is now open to accept bids from the local community organisations for a share of this year's pot.

The project should aim to improve the economic, social or environmental wellbeing of people in Stevenage, and can be from the following groups:

  • Local Community Groups/Clubs.
  • Local Charities.
  • Local organisation.
  • Residents within or operating within Stevenage.

Applications will be assessed by a panel against a range of criteria.

Bidding closes on Sunday 20 October 2024.
