Maintaining memorials

The War Memorials Trust is a charity that works solely to protect and conserve an estimated 65,000 War Memorials in the UK. The War Memorials Trust must grant permission prior to more extensive works being undertaken.

We are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the war memorial on the Bowling Green in Stevenage Old Town.

There may be other memorials situated in churchyards around the town but responsibility for these fall with the church or other organisations.

Stevenage at War is a website dedicated to the memory of the men and women of Stevenage, Aston, Benington and Walkern who gave their lives in two World Wars.
