ELECTION OF A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT

for the

STEVENAGE CONSTITUENCY

1. An election is to be held of A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT for the STEVENAGE CONSTITUENCY.
2. Nomination Papers may be obtained from the Acting Returning Officer at Stevenage Borough Council, Room 157, Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage, SG1 1HN who will, at the request of any elector for the said Constituency, prepare a Nomination paper for signature.
3. Completed Nomination papers and the prescribed deposit of £500.00 must be delivered to the Acting Returning Officer at Stevenage Borough Council, Room 157, Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage, SG1 1HN, from the day following the date of this notice, on Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm, but not later than 4.00pm on Friday, 7 June 2024. The deposit may be made by legal tender or by means of a banker’s draft.
4. If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday, 4 July 2024 between the hours of 7.00am and 10.00pm.
5. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday, 18 June 2024. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
6. New applications to vote by post or requests to cancel or change an existing postal or proxy vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Stevenage Borough Council, Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage, SG1 1HN by 5.00pm on Wednesday, 19 June 2024, if they are to be effective for this election. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote.
7. New applications to vote by proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Stevenage Borough Council, Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage, SG1 1HN by 5.00pm on Wednesday, 26 June 2024, if they are to be effective for this election. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-proxy-vote.
8. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5.00pm on Wednesday, 26 June 2024. Applications can be made online: https://voter-authority-certificate.service.gov.uk.
9. Applications to vote by emergency proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Stevenage Borough Council, Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage, SG1 1HN by 5.00pm on Thursday, 4 July 2024, if they are to be effective for this election.
