To help businesses address the challenge of rising energy costs, reach net zero and build resilience to climate change, the council has launched the Stevenage Green Business Grant.

Grants of up to £10,000 are available to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) implement greener solutions by purchasing and installing new products and equipment to reduce their carbon footprint, reduce water and overall waste usage, improve their energy efficiency, and reduce their energy costs.

Eligible businesses will be able to apply for a one off non-repayable grant of between £500 and £10,000 to cover 80% of the eligible costs of purchasing and installing new products and equipment. The amount of grant supported will depend on the business size and project type.

The Stevenage Green Business Grant is part of the existing Sustainable Support Programme available for Stevenage businesses.

To access this funding, businesses are required to have undertaken an independent Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP) recommending or identifying project/s they are applying the grant for, with estimated savings calculated to reduce their overall carbon emissions. The CRP can be obtained free of charge by undertaking support from either:
