Cycling Organisations

The Cycling Touring Club (CTC)

The CTC is Britain’s largest cycling organisation. It is independent and run by cyclists for the benefit of all current and future cycle-users. Members value the fun, fitness and freedom that cycling offers.

The local group organises a variety of bike rides from Stevenage and helped with the production of this leaflet.

The CTC campaigns for a better deal for cyclists on cycleways and on the roads.

Wheels community project

The Wheels Community Project is an innovative programme for young people, working out of a site in Stevenage.

Activities are diverse, but one area that will interest cyclists is the Wheels Cycle Project.

Taking unwanted, reclaimed or donated cycles the young people work to restore them to a roadworthy condition before finding them a new home. Working in partnership with the Local Authorities and local employers they are actively helping to promote cycling within Stevenage.
