Are you looking for something a bit different to keep the children entertained while you browse the shops for the latest summer fashions? Well, look no further than Stevenage town centre!
Damsels in distress, Knights in shining armour, a magnificent Medieval castle with moat and drawbridge, jesters, jugglers, swords and sorcery will transform the town square in to all things Medieval for the Stevenage Summer Knights Spectacular on Saturday 5 July.
The event, which is sponsored by the ASDA store in Stevenage , will kick off in the town square at 11am with the Medieval roadshow. Chiltern Radio breakfast duo Gaz and Babs will introduce a fantastic line-up of music, dance, games and competitions. Jousting, apple bobbing, face painting, balloon modelling, fancy dress competition, fortune telling, Morris dancers and fairground rides are just a few of the fun activities on offer throughout the day, plus there’s the chance to win some fantastic prizes! Take part in the search for the Holy Grail and you could win a family ticket to the Tower of London, with a sightseeing cruise on the Thames.
A raffle to win tickets to a Medieval Banquet and a free prize draw for a family ticket to Warwick Castle are just some of the fantastic prizes up for grabs throughout the day. A charity tombola will help to raise much needed funds for the Stevenage Town Centre Management Company’s charity of the year, Building Blocks. Plus, we’ll be lining up volunteers to enter the stocks and be pummelled with wet sponges, all in a good cause!
