Stevenage Borough Council is proud to launch Stevenage Even Better Futures – a bold new apprenticeship programme aimed at creating meaningful opportunities for people across the town.

The programme focuses on supporting access to education, training, and employment within the council. It will help local people build the skills, confidence, and networks they need to succeed. As part of the initiative, Stevenage Borough Council will offer internal placements and apprenticeship pathways tailored to the real-life needs of its community.

Apprentice Arborist (two roles): Join our environmental team and learn the theory and physical skills, to care for and manage trees and green spaces across Stevenage.

Community Sports and Health Apprentice: Support the promotion and delivery of leisure and wellbeing initiatives that help tackle health inequalities and enhance physical activity in our community.

General Practice Building Surveyor - Estates (Degree Level): Gain professional expertise in commercial property management and support the council’s estate strategy.

Regulatory Compliance Apprentice: Develop knowledge and skills to help ensure public health and safety.

Finance Apprentice: Build expertise in financial management and help support the council’s budgetary and financial operations - Applications for this apprenticeship has closed.

Building Surveyor Apprentice - Asset Management: Contribute to managing and improving housing assets to meet community needs.

Business Administration Apprentice - Health and Safety (Level 3): Support the council to provide a safe working environment and help to strengthen our preparedness for emergencies and incidents.

Cllr Loraine Rossati, Cabinet Member for Economy, Skills and Transport at Stevenage Borough Council said: “At the heart of Stevenage is its people, and this programme is all about investing in jobs that will make a real difference to our people and to our community.

“It’s a real step forward in how we offer routes into careers for people of all ages. Whether you’re a school leaver or seeking a change of direction, an apprenticeship could be what you’re looking for.”
