Residents invited to contribute to community safety plan
Stevenage Community Safety Partnership is asking residents to share their concerns about safety in our local communities, in order that the partnership’s forward plan can address them.
The Partnership is reviewing the plan to ensure that it is still meeting the town’s needs. Following an assessment of crime in Stevenage, it has identified nine priority areas, and it is asking people to rate these priorities in order of importance to them.
The priority areas are:
• Tackling anti-social behaviour
• Tackling criminal damage
• Reducing violent crime
• Managing offenders
• Tackling drugs
• Tackling alcohol misuse
• Improving feelings of safety
• Reducing burglary, theft, robbery
• Reducing shoplifting.
Cllr Richard Henry, Executive Member for Safer and Stronger Communities, said, “It’s important that the work carried out by the Stevenage Community Safety Partnership meets the needs of people in the town and this is your opportunity to share your concerns. The partnership is committed to addressing all types of crime in Stevenage.”
People can rate the priorities by completing the form online at stevenage.gov.uk or be email to community.safety@stevenage.gov.uk
