The Council and its committees meet regularly to consider, and make decisions, on issues that are presented to them.
Category Items
Action Team Meetings
Action Teams are the formal decision making body of the Council which meet approximately three weeks after the Neighbourhood Forum to consider requests for funding and issues raised by local residents at the Forum. Each Action Team meets four times a year and has a dedicated Stevenage Borough Council Lead Officer.
Council
There are six Full Council meetings a year, held once every two months. All 39 Councillors meet together as the Council to agree Council Policy and set the Council Budget each year.
Executive
The Executive is responsible for most of the Council’s day-to-day decisions. The Executive meets once a month and is made up of 9 Councillors.
Planning and Development Committee
The Planning and Development Committee considers all major planning applications submitted to the Council. Details of each agenda will appear here five working days before the day of the meeting.
Regulatory and other Committees
These committees are required by law to oversee specific functions of the Council, such as the issuing of licenses.
Scrutiny Overview Committee
The Scrutiny Overview Committee reviews the decisions that the Executive are going to be making in the future via the Rolling Programme (Forward Plan).
