There is legislation that governs how the Council manages the information it holds. You can find out more about your information rights in this section

  • Data Protection Act

    The Data Protection Act 1998 is designed to cover the collecting, storing, processing and distribution of personal data. It gives rights to individuals about whom information is recorded

  • Environmental Information Regulations

    The Environmental Information Regulations 2004 provides access to all information regarding the local environment held by the Council

  • Freedom of Information Act

    Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 you have the right to access information held by the Council. The Council must also advise and assist you in making your request

  • Interpreting and translating

    If English is not your first language and you need help in talking/explaining or understanding a letter, documents, bills etc. we can help.
